Copper materials are typified by their high thermal conductivity. They offer advantages over steel plastic moulds have to be cooled strongly or heat has to be dissipated over long distances.
The good thermal fatigue resistance of Duro Metall copper alloy is exploited in ingot mould making for non-ferrous metal casting.
When our materials are used as FE electrodes, the high modulus of elasticity reduces the oscillation of the electrodes in the erosion gap, thereby enabling tighter die sinking tolerances. Thin root faces are less sensitive to handling errors and mechanical damage.
